experiments

brown logo in resin cause its cooler that way
9'6" 23" and probably like 2 3/4" thick i didnt measure that.....so one of the main concepts behind the scooped out tail is that as they fill up with water when the tail is in the curl and you are noseriding that the tail rocker will flatten out,,,,,flatter rocker means faster,,,,so as the rocker flattens you speed up but as you begin to come out of the curl while noseriding less water will be accumulated in the tail so the rocker will begin to flex back to it original state and more rocker means slower so then the board slows down and brings you back in the curl ,,,,essentially it will do this the whole wave as to not goo too fast or too slow and you ll always being perched in the curl,,,cause not very many waves stay the exact same speed and shape the whole time so you gotta adjust well this board adjusts,,,sooo sick...this is an exagerated version of that concept for testing....
what the fart
bottom deep but real blended concave the goes about 6" past center with a good amount of belly (not crazy belly) the progressively mellows out toward the tail block
wood pivot fin to match the red cedar stringers...i made it as always...same template as the red fin on the red and white noserider for nick,,,something long to hold the tail in through bottom turns and steep sections with this uber wide 17" tail

for my pops

for my dad 10' x 24" 3" my dad likes to carve,,surfs church a lot so i gave him a board that has a more progressive rocker but not all banana ed out with the concaves running through the bottom this board will be very stable and will haul ass as you go top to bottom down the line and will be able to get some slashing cutbacks in too.....look for my dad in the toooobbb ...... single concave starting at the nose the turns into spiral vee in the back third and then flat right behind the center fin box.....50-50 railed nose to 60-40 mid rail to hard edge in the back...more pinched rail.....

JoneSea photography....Shane Jones the photographer and the builder of Coral reef wetsuits...Here goes my advertisement,,,,so i got my first Coral Reef suit in the summer and i was stoked on it. It fit well, warm, looked good...hit all the stops. Then one day it was all wet so i took out my 4/3 ripcurl and that is when my eyes where truely opened, my coral reef suit was soooo much warmer and having somethiing to compare it to i realized how poorly my ripcurl fit and how it wasnt nearly as warm of a suit as i had always thought it was...go Coral Reef...that is my recent full suit full 3mill i got ,,,look at that hawaiian print knees,,ripcurl doesnt have hawaiian print....also coral reef is family owned, made in AMERICA and the Jones are super rad..........im riding my zipper noserider with the green brown lamination with gray sand through hotcoat.

for miss Michelle Margaret Mell....MMM...........first clear board i have ever done in my entire life.....life is much easier clear

8'2" 22" 3 1/8". here is an egg/funboard i did for Michelle, she needed something a little bigger than her usual 7'6". so i got this medium balanced rockered board, that would allow for super easy wave entry but could handle Huntington beachbreaks. the bottom has a displaced entry for a little saftey net and smooth wave entry to flat for ultra planning and trim, to slight vee in front of the fins for easy transition from rail to rail and then single concave through the fins and out the tail for projection through turns and tail stability...the rails a slightly fuller but never chuncky and more foiled out in the end for ultra performance. i chose a narrower rounded pin for smoother easy turning and most importantly i chose future boxes because transworld surf told me clay marzo uses futures............her favorite color is torqouise
